They walk, stand, sit, dance, climb, embrace trees, hold hands, practice yoga…they are simply everywhere, in the castle´s park, at the pavillon and at the trees of the park, at the town hall, on the roof of the citicen´s hall, at the public swimming pool, at the train station…distributed in all of Ismaning you can find them, the jolly “light-people”. But they seem to find the castle´s park the most joyful location. Here the appear in greater numbers. 10 “light-people” romp about and stretch on the roof of the pavillon and delight the passers by. I am not allone, they think, there are plenty others and find joy in a great variety of activities which invite to do the same. (But please, don´t copy everything they do…one might fall off a tree or the roof 😉
The “light-people” symbolize the joyful citizens of Ismaning who, after a long winter pause, strive to go outside and take dilight in everything that brings joy. They transform Ismaning in a place of love of life and joyful activity. They invite to go outside, to discover the “light-people” and do something similar as they do. The winter is gone, spring is here and with it a new beginning, the awakening after hibernation.
38 “light-people” have been installed. They are designed individually and take on different poses which stand for the awakening and persistent joy of life of the citizens of ismaning.
