A burning plea for love in challenging times.
The heart is in the center of our light installation. The heart stands for love, forgiveness, redemption, peace, good feeling, intuition and life. Expression such as „follow your heart“, „have a big heart“ and „lose your heart“ are deeply embedded in our language. In addition, the heart forms a strong symbol in our society. Everyone takes pleasure about a heart as a gift of a beloved one. Also within the church, the heart has a strong symbolic power in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. „Who is there who would not love this wounded heart? Who would not love in return Him, who loves so much?”
That´s why we have chosen the analogy of the heart for our light art installation. Together with light, the heart creates a strong symbiosis because light stands for hope, confidence and truth. In the Christian belief, god brings light into darkness.
Light installation “The flaming Heart” Act 1: “Light into Darkness”: It is dark in the church. Fog ascends. First light beams penetrate the fog and form moving clouds. The light feels it´s way through the fog and creates first forms. Act 2: “Creation” the light beams are red, red like a heart which they also form in the end. Act 3: “Love”: A heart hovers over the parish, softly changing in its intensity. The heart pumps and pulsates. Act 4: “The Flaming Heart” finally burns in a crescendo of passion and emotion.
The light choreography by mbeam (M. Beck) is accompanied by spherical music of Michel Watzinger (dulcimer / zither), Maria Reiter (accordion) and on Sunday by Martina Koppelstetter (lyrics) and Verena Richter (saxophone), enforcing the emotional impressions of the light installation in the excellent acoustic atmosphere of the church.
